AIMS AND SCOPE

The Journal of Geodesy is an international journal concerned with the study of scientific problems of geodesy and related interdisciplinary sciences. Papers are published on theoretical or modeling studies, and on the results of experiments and their interpretations. Besides original research papers, the journal includes commissioned review papers on topical subjects and special issues arising from chosen scientific symposia or workshops. The journal covers the whole range of geodetic science and reports on theoretical and applied studies in research areas such as positioning reference frames, geodetic networks, modeling and quality control, space geodesy, remote sensing, gravity field and geodynamics.

The International Association of Geodesy has elected Prof. Dr. Peter Teunissen as Editor-in-Chief of the new journal. The new Editorial Office will receive all manuscripts from contributors and will arrange through the Editorial Board for their expeditious review. Prof. Teunissen will solicit special issues on topical subjects and nominate guest editors from time to time. He will make final acceptance decisions on papers and will work together with the Editorial Board to ensure that uniform and high standards are met.

The Journal of Geodesy is the official journal of the International Association of Geodesy and includes the IAG Newsletter, with announcements of meetings, symposia, new books and literature. The Journal is published by Springer Verlag .
Bulletin Geodesique and Manuscripta Geodectica have merged into the new journal. The new journal will be abstracted/indexed in Current Contents and in the Science Citation Index.
